Chinese technology company LeEco has a whole host of products in its portfolio, including smartphones, smart TVs, smart bicycles and more. Although most of these devices have only been available for purchase in its home country until very recently, the company has branched out to neighboring markets like India over the past year. Now, LeEco is all set to bring some of its products to the United States, and towards that end, is holding a launch event in San Francisco, California, on October 19th. The company’s US-bound products include the Le Max 2 and Le S3 smartphones, as well as the LeEco Super4 series TV sets and the LeEco uMax85 TV.
In the run up to the launch day, a LeEco device has now hit the FCC. The device has an FCC ID of 2AFWMLEX727, and is believed to be one of the two smartphones that LeEco will launch in the country next week. While further details regarding the device are still hard to come by, all the products the company will launch in the country have been available for purchase in China for some time now, which means they’ve already been tried and tested. The Le Max 2 is the company’s current premium offering, and comes with a 5.7-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) display panel, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and the 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 sensor as its primary camera. The device is expected to carry a price-tag of $349, but will be available at a $60 discount through the end of this year.
LeEco will also launch a mid-range smartphone in the form of the Le S3, which appears to be a renamed or slightly tweaked LeEco Le 2 that’s priced at $180 in India, but is currently available for purchase at a nifty little discount. This one’s been listed at $229, but will also get the $60 discount through December 2016, bringing its effective price down to just $169. The handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC. LeEco, which recently bought U.S. television maker Vizio, is also likely to launch a range of smart televisions that are expected to be marketed under its own LeEco brand. All of the TV models come with 4K panels and run Android TV out of the box, although, their prices have not yet been disclosed.
