LG V20 To Be Available In Canada From October 28

LG unveiled the LG V20 this past September, but it seems as though we have been waiting for it to arrive in Canada ever since. Although, that wait now looks to have come to an end as LG Electronics Canada has now announced that beginning October 28, Wind Mobile and Videotron will start selling the LG V20. As a bonus for a limited time, if you purchase the LG V20, they will throw in a pair of BeoPlay H3 headphones by Bang & Olufsen. No exact pricing of the LG V20 was given as that will likely be determined by the carriers and it is only being sold in the Titan color.

LG designed the LG V20 for people to carry one device to create quality content, both visual and audio. LG took a pass on stainless steel and opted for a lighter aircraft-grade aluminum. The silicone is gone from the back and now used at the top and bottom of the device as a bumper if you drop the V20. Many of the new phones are using an always-on display to help with battery life. The LG V20 decided to have an actual secondary display over top of the main display. These two displays operate independently from one another so that primary display can be locked while the secondary display is always on to send you notifications and LG has increased the brightness of the V20 to make it easier to see.

The primary IPS QHD display is 5.7-inches and packs 513 pixels-per-inch (PPI.) It packs a 64-bit Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of the faster UFS 2.0 internal memory that is expandable via a microSD card. The main camera area uses a dual-camera setup with a 16-megapixel sensor from the LG G5 and another 8-megapixel wide-angle lens that operates independently from the main camera. It can be employed for those scenic shots or group family shots when you would like a wider shot. LG included laser and phase detection autofocus (PDAF,) added a large f/1.8 aperture on the main camera and f/2.4 for the 8-megapixel sensor, OIS, and a dual-tone LED flash.

The LG V20 went all out on sound with four DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters), which is a first in a smartphone. LG then provided an excellent EQ with left/right balance controls that are B&O Play certified. The only thing they forgot was a pair of front-facing stereo speakers. The V20 measures 159.7 x 78.1 x 7.6 mm and weighs in at 174 grams and will be running Android 7.0 (Nougat) out of the box.
