Meizu M3s Launches In India With A Metal Body, Low Price Tag

The metal-clad Meizu M3s was introduced in China earlier this year on June 13th, as a sequel to the original Meizu M1 Metal launched in October 2015. The same smartphone is now making its way towards the Indian market where it is available for purchase in two storage & memory configurations, and three color options, exclusively through Snapdeal for the starting price of Rs. 7,999 ($120).

The Meizu M3s fits in the mid-range market segment, and not unlike other Meizu handsets in its category, it comes wrapped in a metal unibody design featuring a sheet of 2.5D glass covering the front panel. Spec-wise, the Meizu M3s accommodates a 5-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720, resulting in a pixel density of ~294 pixels per inch. Overall the smartphone measures 141.9 x 69.9 x 8.3 millimeters, and combined with the size of the display this leads to a screen-to-body ratio of roughly 69.5%. Under the hood, the Meizu M3s is powered by a MediaTek MT6750 System-on-Chip (SoC) housing a total of 8 CPU cores; four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at frequencies of up to 1.0GHz, and an additional four Cortex-A53 cores operating at frequencies of up to 1.5GHz per core. The CPU works alongside an ARM Mali-T860 MP2 (dual-core) graphics processor clocked at 650 MHz. Moving on, the Meizu M3s in India is available in two main configurations: one equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, and the other housing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of on-board memory. In both cases, storage can be expanded externally through a microSD card slot able to read up to 256GB of additional memory.

Other details worth mentioning include a 13-megapixel main camera with phase detection autofocus, an f/2.2 aperture, and a dual-LED flash, a 5-megapixel front-facing sensor with an f/2.0 aperture, and a non-removable 3,020 mAh battery. The smartphone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the Flyme 5.1 custom interface on top, and is available in India exclusively on Snapdeal in three color options, namely gold, silver, and gray. The handset is accompanied by a price tag of 7,999 Indian rupees ($120) for the lower-specced variant, while the 32 GB model with 3 GB of RAM is available for 9,299 Indian rupees ($139).
