The Nextbit Robin may take a different approach to storage compared to other Android devices, but it’s still an Android device. That said, like other Android device owners, those who use the Robin as their daily driver are just like other Android device users in many ways, from installing apps to taking photos, and like many other Android device owners it also seems that they love their phones. To show just how much Robin owners love their devices, Nextbit has put out a graphic titled “Robin By The Numbers” which details a handful of interesting statistics about how Robin devices are being used.
According to Nextbit’s data, which was acquired through the sharing of that data via surveys that were sent out to Robin owners, which Nextbit seems to call Rebels, those who own a Robin have downloaded a total of 58,000 unique applications. The average number of Robin owners also seems to have around 55 applications installed on their device, while the graphic also showcases that the most installed apps are offerings like Facebook, Facebook’s Messenger app, Snapchat, Uber, Skype, Netflix, Spotify, and others. In addition to this Nextbit has shared that the most pinned apps are offerings like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Line, Google Keep, Google Translate and others.
A total of 55 installed apps on average seems like a lot, but Nextbit states that the average amount of app space being used is around 7.5GB of the 32GB that the Robin is equipped with internally. Of that 32GB, about 16GB of internal storage is also used up in about a 4-month period, so it isn’t taking too long to go through half the phone’s space, but it’s also not happening overnight. While Nextbit doesn’t mention exactly how many photos each Robin user has on their device, they do state that users appear to be taking around 23 photos a day on average, which is a fair amount. While the graphic is a fun little collection of data, Nextbit wasn’t just sharing interesting numbers facts about their users, as they also noted some details about the October update, which includes up to date security patches and a fix for the Quadrooter vulnerability. Additionally, Nextbit mentions that a few Nextbit apps have been updated along with the system update, unfortunately they don’t appear to mention when they are actually pushing the update out to users.
