Rumor: Galaxy S8 To Ship With Viv AI Assistant, 4K Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 hasn’t exactly been a success Samsung was hoping for, quite on the contrary, the company’s newest phablet will cost Samsung quite a bit of money. The company was forced to recall the Galaxy Note 7 units due to the fact a number of them shipped with defective batteries which caused them to explode, and it seems like the replacement units are not exactly an improvement, as a number of new and ‘safe’ models have faced similar issues. Samsung had stopped selling the Galaxy Note 7, and had also urged consumers to turn off their Galaxy Note 7 units (both old and new) and return them to where the purchased them from.

That being said, this will hurt Samsung’s reputation quite a bit, and the company will have to make up for such issues with their upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have been immensely successful for Samsung this year, and expectations are high for its successor, the Galaxy Note 7 issues are only making the Galaxy S8 more important for Samsung. We’ve already seen a number of Galaxy S8 rumors thus far, most recent of which have reported that the phone could land on February 26th, and that it could sport a curved display on all four sides. Well, a new piece of info just leaked, sharing alleged specs of the Samsung Galaxy S8, read on.

According to the info which originates from Weibo (Chinese social network), the Galaxy S8 will launch in both 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch variants. The 5.1-inch model will sport a QHD display, while the larger model will ship with a 4K panel, we’re looking at Super AMOLED displays in both cases here. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 830 and Exynos 8895 will be in charge of fueling the Galaxy S8, Samsung will use both processors as they did this year, Snapdragon 830 will probably fuel the Galaxy S8 in some countries (like the US), while the Exynos 8895 will do that in other regions (like Europe, for example). The Galaxy S8 will ship with two main cameras on its back, while the UFS 2.1 flash storage will be a part of this package as well. Now, in addition to all this, the device will also ship with the ‘Viv’ assistant which will replace Samsung’s S Voice.
