Working out in 2016 means not only having a dedicated fitness app tracking your progress at all times but also listening to some sweet tunes in order to motivate yourself or simply keep things interesting. Luckily for us, smartphones are capable of both of these things but constantly switching between your fitness app and your music player does get tiresome after a while. That’s one of the main reasons why Runtastic and its mobile fitness solution have been so popular in recent years. With support for Runtastic Music, you can play your favorite song libraries while working out without ever leaving the fitness app itself which also boasts a traditional multimedia controller so that you can use it just like you would use a traditional music player for Android.
While that’s certainly great and all, it’s not that finding something to complain about is now impossible. For starters, everyone loves free stuff and music usually isn’t free. As it turns out, Runtastic and Google have been thinking about that, as well. Namely, the Adidas-owned fitness app and Google Play Music have just announced a pretty major partnership which brings a whole bunch of free playlists to Runtastic. You don’t even need to update any apps to take advantage of this new feature, just start Runtastic, navigate to its music menu and scroll down until you see the newly added collection of free Google Play Music playlists. All of the free playlists have been specifically curated for workouts as they exclusively feature tracks playing at over 130 beats per minute.
In addition to that, this collaboration also allows Runtastic customers to try out all of the Google Play Music premium features for free. Namely, the Mountain View-based tech giant is now offering a two-month trial period of Play Music subscription to all users of the popular fitness app without any strings attached. So, that’s two months of free access to an ad-free music streaming service boasting a library of over 40 million tracks and a lot of customization options. Even if you aren’t looking for a new streaming solution, this seems like a perfect opportunity to enjoy some free music. Of course, if Runtastic Running & Fitness app simply isn’t your cup of tea, there are plenty of alternatives on the Play Store to choose from.
