Speck Announce New Cases For The Google Pixel & Pixel XL

Whenever a new Android flagship device gets revealed, so does various smartphone accessories. Now the Pixel phones are here, it is time for their various accessories to be announced and one of the first manufacturers to do so is Speck Products. The company announced two cases for the Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices less than an hour after they were officially unveiled by Google in San Francisco. More specifically, the San Mateo-based company announced two cases for each of the upcoming Pixel devices: The Presidio Clear and Presidio Grip.

Like their names suggest, the Presidio Clear is a simple transparent case while the Presidio Grip is a more robust one which is focused on providing its users with better handling of their latest Google-made flagship. Other than that, the only design difference between the two—or better said, four—products, lies in the fact that the Presidio Grip for the Google Pixel is available in black and blue colors while all of the other announced variants will be offered in a single color, with Presidio Grip for Pixel XL being only available in black. Other than that, all four cases come with a lifetime warranty and Speck is offering a 30-Day unconditional guarantee period in addition to free shipping and returns in the United States. You can check out the first third-party cases for the Google Pixel phones in the gallery below.

The listing over at Speck Products states that both cases are “coming soon” which presumably means they’ll be available by October 20th when Google Pixel and Pixel XL are officially hitting the market in the US. Not surprisingly, they’re not priced the same: Presidio cases for the 5-inch Google Pixel will set you back $39.95 while Speck is asking $44.95 for their Pixel XL counterparts. Of course, that’s still a small price to pay to protect a flagship whose starting price point is set at $649.99, as Google has just confirmed in San Francisco.

Regarding the devices themselves, Verizon is already offering pre-orders in the US, though Google will also be selling the unlocked version of both phones in a couple of weeks. Of course, if you aren’t a fan of these Presidio cases which Speck just announced, there’s no doubt that a lot of other alternatives are just around the corner so you’ll have plenty of them to choose from by the time Pixel and Pixel XL officially become available to buy.
