With the launch of the Pixel phones this week, many consumers who made the decision to purchase one will likely be receiving their units in the mail soon, and the ones that already have are probably already going through the process to set theirs up. If you purchased a Pixel or Pixel XL, there is actually quite a lot to love about the devices, some of it which is unique and exclusive to the Pixel phones. One of the most notable things you won’t find on any other device is the free and unlimited storage for your photos and videos at full resolution, which should come in handy as the Pixel and Pixel XL are also equipped with the best smartphone camera on the market, yet another strong point of these phones.
Of course, another big win for the Pixel and Pixel XL is the full version of Google Assistant. While you can get this installed on other devices running on Android 7.0 Nougat and Android 6.0 Marshmallow if you have a rooted device or a custom recovery to flash the files, this comes baked into the Pixel and Pixel XL and is accessible right out of the box, and it’s system wide so you can essentially use it for anything from asking questions to playing music and even installing an app, although admittedly it doesn’t actually install an app for you, it merely pops up the app link which takes you to the Play Store to hit the install button. Both phones also have a lightning fast fingerprint sensor on board, which is nifty if you use this method for unlocking your device and authorizing mobile payments, and of course there’s the fact that both phones are running on Android 7.1 Nougat, which is so far on no other devices officially. If you happened to pick up either the Pixel or Pixel XL, what’s your favorite feature?
