Xiaomi Redmi 4 & Redmi 4A Specs Get Confirmed By TENAA

Xiaomi had released a number of Redmi-branded smartphones this year. The ‘Redmi’ brand usually represents Xiaomi’s low and mid-range smartphones which are extremely affordable, and we’ve seen quite a few really compelling Redmi smartphones this year, including the Redmi 3, Redmi Note 3, Redmi 3 Pro, Redmi 3s, Redmi 3s Prime, Redmi 3x, Redmi Pro and Redmi Note 4. Now, you might notice that the Redmi 4 is missing here, and that’s because Xiaomi still did not officially announce this handset.

Having that in mind, the company is expected to officially introduce the Redmi 4 really soon, though we still don’t know when exactly will that happen. While we’re waiting for Xiaomi to announce the Redmi 4, the phone got certified by TENAA in China, alongside the Redmi 4A. These two devices actually got certified a while back, but their listings did not surface until now. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see the Redmi 4 and Redmi 4A in the flesh, these two devices are quite similar, but not exactly identical. Both of them are made out of metal, and sport three capacitive buttons below the display, menu, home and back, respectively. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the back of both of these phones, and both the power / lock and volume rocker physical keys are implemented on the right. The position of the rear-facing camera and an LED flash is different on these two devices, as is the position of their speakers.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 will sport a 5-inch fullHD IPS display, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor, and a 4,000mAh battery will be included in this package. The 13-megapixel shooter will be placed on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel snapper will be included up front. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed here, and MIUI 8 is placed on top of Google’s OS. The Redmi 4A, on the other hand, fuels a 5-inch 720p IPS display, according to TENAA, while it will also pack in 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage. The Snapdragon 425 64-bit quad-core SoC will fuel this phone, and a 3,000mAh battery will be included here as well. The camera sensors will be identical to the ones that will be included in the Redmi 4.
