If you’re the type that utilizes Adobe’s tools for design, such as Photoshop and Adobe CC, then you’ll be happy to know that Adobe has released a couple of new apps for Android today with Photoshop Sketch and Comp CC, both of which are available to download and install at no cost. You can also test out the application features and functions with a free version of an Adobe Creative Cloud account, although to get full use you’ll need to have the subscription. That being said, testing them out should be able to deliver a good enough idea of whether or not they will work for you compared to their full version counterparts.
With Adobe Photoshop Sketch, what it offers is an ability to draw and sketch out pretty much anything with the only limits being your imagination. Adobe has included a variety of different pencils, pens, and brushes to get the creativity flowing and users will be able to modify various elements like size, color, opacity and more. While there are already a decent amount of brushes to begin with, Adobe has made it possible to create more brushes with Capture CC, and then use those within the Photoshop Sketch app. What’s more is that it offers up multiple layers of creation and those layers can be preserved if the sketches are transferred to Photoshop or Illustrator where the work can be continued and enhanced.
With Adobe Comp CC, artists or generally anyone that’s interested can use the app to create wireframe designs. The designs are meant for both print and screens, whether those screens be smartphones and tablets or desktops and laptops. Just as with Photoshop Sketch, wireframe designs and any projects created in Comp CC can be transferred, although in addition to being able to send the projects to Photoshop and Illustrator, you can also send them InDesign here. Naturally you can create designs from scratch, but there are also a number of preset templates you can work off of that are based on different mobile and print sizes, depending on what you need. The app also uses professional fonts from Typekit and the app has a similar, easy to work with layout like Photoshop Sketch. If you’re interested in giving these apps a try, you can grab Photoshop Sketch from the first button below, while Comp CC can be picked up from the second button.
