Google has been making a big push for enterprise customers lately. While the company already had begun to establish itself with the ‘Google Apps for Work’ program, recently Google rebranded that program as G Suite. A rebranding which looked to simplify the understanding of what G Suite offers. Since then, G Suite has been gaining quite a few new features to simplify tasks for its business and enterprise customers. Speaking of which, Google today announced two new G Suite-related features which are designed to simplify tasks even more and especially when it comes to apps.
The first is certainly likely to be the most useful as Google has now introduced their ‘App Maker’ for G Suite. This feature is extremely self-explanatory as App Maker is just that, a development tool which will look to help businesses create their own apps. Now, these are not meant to necessarily be the most versatile, novel or in-depth apps (although they can be), but instead the premise is that you can make a quick and easy app and one which is more suited to your specific workplace needs – whatever they may be and regardless of your app development ability or know-how.
The second new feature announced today is more of an expansion of a feature than an introduction of one. Following the previous introduction of the ‘Recommended for G Suite’ feature, Google today announced that the program is now being expanded with the inclusion of seven additional apps which are designed to help businesses be more productive. Google makes the point that these apps go through additional and “rigorous security testing and quality measures” to ensure that they are suitable and worthwhile for G Suite customers. As such, while App Maker looks to help G Suite customers build a more tailored app, the expansion of Recommended for G Suite looks to ensure if you prefer to use third-party apps, you can easily find them.
According to the Google blog, App Maker is now live and G Suite business customers can find out more or enroll for the service through the ‘Early Adopter Program’. Likewise, the new recommended app additions are also available starting from today. Those interested in finding out more about either of these G Suite services, can do so by heading through the link below and reading the full blog post on the matter. Alternatively, you can check out the video below from Google which looks to highlight some of the key benefits of the new App Maker feature.
