Google Home Now Officially Available To Buy For $129

Back on October 4, Google took to the stage and unveiled a swarm of new products. Well, unveiled some new products anyway, and updated the public on the other new products that had been previously announced, but had yet to become available. Google Home was one of the products which falls into the latter camp as it was formally announced and introduced back at Google’s I/O event, earlier in the year. For those still unaware of what Google Home does, this is a device which essentially looks to bring Google Assistant to the home, as well as providing you with what is a pretty good Bluetooth speaker along the way.

That said, during the October 4 event and in spite of being months after its original introduction, Google Home still had not become generally available. Instead, it was being confirmed as coming to market and shortly after the event, became available to pre-order from the likes of the Google Store. Although, if you had been waiting for the day when you could simply walk into your local Best Buy and pick up a Google Home off the shelf, then it looks like the time has now finally come.

Google has announced today that Google Home is now on general release and is now available to buy in stores. The announcement came via Twitter where Google confirmed that Google Home is now available to buy from multiple retailers including Best Buy, Target and Walmart. Although, as per reports of the last week, it does seem as though Google Home has been available in Walmart stores for the last few days. Either way, if you do not want to head down to your local store, then you can simply order online from any of the already-mentioned stores or the Google Store directly. Unlike orders made online prior to today, these new ones will not be logged as pre-orders but will simply be sales. So it may have taken its time in becoming available, but if you do want to get your hands on Google Home and see how the device and Google Assistant can make your living room experience better, then now you can and without any caveats, beyond the $129 asking price.
