Huawei Mate 9's Camera Samples Pop Up On Weibo

The Huawei Mate 9 leaks have been off the hook lately. The company’s upcoming phablet has been leaking like crazy for the last couple of days, even though the device has been popping up every once in a while for months now. That being said, the Huawei Mate 9 will be announced tomorrow during the company’s event in Munich, Germany, and judging by the company’s teasers, we can expect this phone to ship with great battery life, really capable camera sensors and Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Speaking of the Mate 9’s camera sensors, a number of camera sample shots from the Huawei Mate 9 just popped up on Weibo (Chinese social network). Do keep in mind that these samples come from Huawei’s Product Manager, so they’re definitely legit. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you’ll get to see 9 sample shots from the Huawei Mate 9, and even though these images are cropped quite a bit, they look really good. Most of these images are shot in not-so-good lighting, which is actually a great thing, as it gives us more info as to what this camera is capable of. The first and second image in the gallery show off the camera’s capabilities in really dark conditions, and it seems like we’ll get a really capable low light shooter with the Huawei Mate 9. The colors are also on point in most cases, which is a good thing. Now, speaking of the camera, the Huawei Mate 9 will probably ship with two camera sensors on the back, the 20-megapixel shooter, and a 12-megapixel snapper, at least according to the latest reports. Leica and Huawei will probably team up once again, which means we can expect Leica’s lenses on top of these two camera sensors, while Sony’s sensors will probably be utilized on the inside.

The Huawei Mate 9 is said to sport a 5.9-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display, along with 6GB of RAM and more than one internal storage option. The device will be fueled by the Kirin 960 64-bit octa-core processor, and Android 7.0 Nougat will come pre-installed on it, along with the company’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin on top of Google’s operating system. The Huawei Mate 9 will be made out of metal, and it is possible that Huawei plans to introduce a ‘Pro’ variant of this device as well, a variant with a curved display.
