Samsung’s 2017 model of the Galaxy A5 has been in rumors for months now, and some of the most recent include that it may end up being released in four different colors, which include Black, Gold, Pink, and Blue. While there’s no confirmation so far on the Gold, Pink, and Blue colors of the phone, the 2017 model of the Galaxy A5 will certainly come in Black, as shown in this video posted by a YouTuber who reviews the device. That being said, this would be the first unofficial look at the new version of the Galaxy A5 which still has no launch date that’s been set by Samsung, but given that a working model has been leaked and that it recently appeared at the Bluetooth SIG, chances are that a launch is not too far in the future.
It should be kept in mind that since this doesn’t come straight from Samsung and the phone hasn’t officially been launched, that anything about the device is subject to change and there is no way of confirming the details because it is a leak, but having said that the possibility of anything being different from what’s seen here isn’t highly likely. Based on the video, it would seem that previously leaked specifications match up with what’s actually inside the device. This includes a 5.2-inch Full HD display that uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED panel.
Other specs include a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera and 3GB of RAM as well as 32GB of internal storage space for memory. You can also see that the front-facing camera uses a 16-megapixel sensor as well. This particular video doesn’t give off details of every single piece of hardware. Early on, the results of an AnTuTu benchmark are shown but these don’t detail how much capacity the battery offers. However, it is stated that the battery life is pretty good. In addition to the internal storage the device also has expandable storage, likely supporting up to 256GB. The Samsung Galaxy A5 in this video is running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, so it’s most likely that when launched the phone will come with this version of the Android software. Whether or not it ends up getting updated to Android 7.0 Nougat anytime soon, or at all, is entirely unclear, but it wouldn’t make sense for Samsung not to update a brand new device that has yet to be released when Nougat is already being pushed out to devices that launched this year.
