The Meizu PRO 5 was introduced back in September 2015 as the company’s flagship phablet. Meizu was expected to introduce its successor back in September, but that did not happen, well, not until today. The company has just introduced the Exynos 8890-powered Meizu PRO 6 Plus phablet in China, and we’ve already covered the main announcement of this smartphone. That being said, we’re here to take a closer look at the spec sheet of the Meizu PRO 6 Plus, so read on if you’re interested.
The Meizu PRO 6 Plus sports a 5.7-inch display as its predecessor, but this time around Meizu has opted to include a QHD (2560 x 1440, 518PPI) panel in their flagship phablet, and 3D Press is also a part of the package. The Meizu PRO 6 Plus comes with a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display with the AOD Holographic display technology. This handset packs in 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 64GB / 128GB of UFS 2.0 internal storage. The phone is fueled by Samsung’s Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core processor running at 2.0GHz in the 64GB storage variant of the device, and at 2.3GHz in the 128GB model of the Meizu PRO 6 Plus. This processor includes the Mali-T880 GPU which is in charge of graphics processing. The 3,400mAh non-removable battery is included on the inside of this phone, and it supports 24W fast charging.
On the back of the Meizu PRO 6 Plus, you’ll be able to find a 12-megapixel 4-axis OIS camera (Sony’s IMX386 CMOS sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6-element lens, PDAF) with a Laser Autofocus sensor and a 10-LED circular dual-tone flash. The Meizu PRO 6 Plus also includes a 5-megapixel selfie camera (f/2.0 aperture) with the ArcSoft beautification algorithm and Face AE smart facial brightness adjustment. There is a multifunctional home button placed below the phone’s display which acts as both a capacitive back key, and a physical home key, while the fingerprint scanner is also included inside of it. This fingerprint scanner is extremely fast, it can unlock your device in 0.16 seconds when you touch it, and it doesn’t matter from which side you put your finger to it. You do get Hi-Fi audio in this phablet as well, the device ships with the ESS ES9018K2M decoder chip (32-bit audio DAC solution), and the 2nd generation Soloearphone circuit. The company has also included RUBYCON capacitors here, as well as the ADI ADA4807 chip.
Dual 4G is available in the Meizu PRO 6 Plus, the phone offers support for both 4G TD-LTE and FDD-LTE, while it comes with 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi (5GHz and 2.4GHz support). Bluetooth 4.1 is a part of this package as well, and Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Meizu PRO 6 Plus with the company’s Flyme 6 OS, which is the newest version of Meizu’s Android-based OS, and this is the first smartphone that ships with Flyme 6. The Meizu PRO 6 Plus measures 155.6 x 77.3 x 7.3mm, while it weighs 158 grams. The phone comes in Gray, Silver and Champagne Gold color variants.
