The Samsung Galaxy S8 is already one of the most anticipated devices of 2017. This handset started leaking out a while back, and the company has a lot riding on it. As many of you know, the Galaxy Note 7 turned out to be quite a disaster for the company, as Samsung had to recall it twice, and then ultimately decided not to sell it anymore due to battery issues. Many people had to choose some other phone to use, and chances are that quite a few of them will be interested in the Galaxy S8 once it launches.
The Galaxy S8 will, of course, be the company’s flagship for 2017, and chances are it will launch at the end of February, but some rumors have stated that the company might opt to postpone its launch until March or April. In addition to that, a recent rumor also suggested that the company could launch two Galaxy S8 models, a 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch variants. Now, this rumors did sound quite odd at first, as both of these devices seems to be too big for the ‘Galaxy S’ line, the Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch display, while the Galaxy S7 Edge ships with a 5.5-inch panel. We’ll see how accurate that rumor is, but two variants are certainly a possibility. Having that in mind, a new Galaxy S8 rumor has just surfaced in Korea. According to this new info, both Galaxy S8 models could sport curved displays, in other words, the flat-screened variant might not become available at all.
The source also mentions that the company will use the SM-G950 and SM-G955 model numbers for their upcoming devices, which also suggests that the flat-screened model will be skipped. The SM-G950 is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch display which we’ve mentioned quite recently, and the SM-G955 could launch with a 6.2-inch panel. The two devices are also said to sport thinner bezels, as the company is expected to announce ‘bezel-less’ Galaxy S8 handsets, which should make these two devices easier to handle due to a smaller footprint. These rumors do sound rather interesting, but take this info with a grain of salt, as per usual, and stay tuned, we’ll report back soon.
