Samsung Electronics is trying to pull out all stops to get as many people on board as possible as it grapples with the fallout of the Galaxy Note 7 disaster. The company already has a rather long list of smartphones meant to cater to every segment of the market globally, and the company has recently also started to take steps to generate a bit more interest in its products by offering new color options for its tried and tested models that are currently in the market. A case in point would be the Blue Coral Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge models that were introduced earlier this month. A new report now suggests that the company may soon go even further to try and get even more consumers in its fold by offering one of its smartphones in pink.
The South Korean electronics company has just released a teaser on Chinese social media site, Weibo that indicates it will launch one of its smartphones in the new color option later today. There’s no word on which particular device will get the new color, but sections of the media seem to believe that it will either be the Galaxy S7 or the Galaxy S7 Edge, if not both. It is worth noting that these two devices are both already available in Pink Gold, so it will be interesting to see what exactly Samsung means by ‘Pink’ this time around. We will also have to wait and see if this particular pink model will be launched outside of China at some stage.
Samsung’s recent problems have been well-documented in the media over the past few months. Not only has the company stopped production of its ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 phablet because of battery fires that were being reported from around the world, the company has also recently issued a recall for around 2.8 million washing machines in the U.S. because of a manufacturing defect that allowed parts of the machines to come apart during high-speed spin-cycles, causing serious injuries to people in some cases. Either way, Samsung will be hoping that it will be able to attract new customers with its latest color options even as the company is working hard on getting its Galaxy S8 ready for primetime as soon as possible.
