Nowadays, one of the biggest selling points about smartphones is that you can use them for just about everything other than actually making a call. One of the ways in which they are becoming significantly more useful is as a payment tool. As a result, there are now multiple ways in which you can pay for goods, services, or people, just using your smartphone. Although, if you are looking for a super simple way to pay your friends and family back for something, or just to gift someone you know some money, then Square Cash is one of the apps that you should check out.
While there are multiple apps available which look to offer a way to pay someone, one of the big advantages of Square Cash is just how simple the app is to use. The interface is very clean and once up and running, sending money is very simple indeed. Just hit the contact details for the person you want to send money to, the amount you want to send and then send it. There is nothing complicated here and the whole process is super easy and fluid – which is probably what you want when all you are looking to do is send someone $20 to cover your half of the pizza you both ordered the other night.
In addition to being able to send money quickly and easily, the setting up procedure for new users is just as simple. Again, there is nothing too complicated to do and the app guides you through the process . You just follow the prompts and literally within a minute or so, the app is setup, linked to your payment method, and you are good to go. One of the clever things about the app is during the setup process you get to create your own ‘cashtag’. This is your unique Square Cash ID and what you can give to people for them to be able to send you money. Which means that you do have the added benefit of not having to worry about giving someone your phone number, email address, bank details or anything. Just give them your cashtag ID and any money they send to that ID ends up in your account and in your pocket.
To give you a prime example of how useful the app can be and for just about any situation – I needed something mailed over to me from someone here at the site. It was nothing too important, but was an item I wanted. However, the issue was the shipping costs. Now this was not a particularly expensive item to ship, but that is the problem. I often find myself in this situation and always telling the person send it and I’ll pay the shipping costs. Although, I actually never get around to doing that. With Square Cash though, this time was very different as I was able to send the money over to cover the shipping costs before the person even sent the item. No issues, no problems and no more promising that this time I’ll pay. It was all just very straightforward and easy. Not to mention, it was not even the reason why I downloaded the app in the first place. Which goes to show that once you are using the app, you will find reasons to actually use it. It is also worth pointing out that the person in question actually never had a Square Cash account either. Although, that was a not an issue as the app also allows you to send money to friends and family regardless of whether they have an account or not. If they do, they can simply cash the money out, but if they don’t, they can either have the money sent to the account or instead, left it in the app and use it at another time.
To be honest, the use cases for this type of app are endless. While you can quickly pay someone back for your half of the pizza, if you are someone who is paying for something for multiple people, then this is an ideal way to reduce the hassle of dealing with multiple people and multiple payments. For instance, booking flights for a weekend getaway with friends or buying tickets to an upcoming concert are all made easy, as you can make the initial payment and then send out a payment request to all those involved. Everyone will get the request and they can all send their payments to your Square Cash ID and you will be in total control of the situation. No constantly monitoring to see who has paid and who hasn’t or worrying about contacting multiple people. It is all taken care of and managed in the app and very easily. So if you have yet to give Square Cash a try, then it might be worth doing so. It is a very straightforward and easy to use app and one which you will suddenly find yourself using more often as time goes on. It just becomes very easy to send money to people. Not to mention, the app is free to download from the Google Play Store.
