Vernee is one of the smaller and newer Chinese smartphone manufacturers. This company had introduced a couple of interesting smartphones in the last year or so, including the Vernee Mars, Vernee Thor and Vernee Apollo Lite. In addition to those three smartphones, the company had talked about the Vernee Apollo a while back. The Vernee Apollo was actually expected to launch a couple of months ago, but that did not happen, and this is the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone. Having that in mind, our source at the company reached out with some new info regarding the Vernee Apollo, so read on.
According to the provided info, the Vernee Apollo will finally launch soon. The company will launch this smartphone on November 29th, and it will start shipping in December, though unfortunately we still don’t know how much will it cost. The Vernee Apollo is a metal-clad smartphone, and you can see its final design in the provided images down below. The phone will sport a fingerprint scanner on its back, while both of its physical keys will be placed on the right-hand side of the phone’s body. Vernee Apollo’s camera will protrude on the back ever so slightly, and a dual LED flash is also included here. The company is also saying that this “will be the first VR flagship on MTK platform”, which probably means that it will be the first high-end offering which sports MediaTek’s chip on the inside and offers good VR experience due to its pixel-packed display.
The Vernee Apollo will ship with a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440, 541ppi) display, along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of eMMC 5.1 internal storage. The phone will be fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X25 64-bit deca-core processor running at 2.5GHz, and the Mali-T880 GPU. On the back of this phone, you’ll be able to find a 21-megapixel shooter (Sony’s IMX230 sensor), though we still don’t know what selfie camera is Vernee planning to utilize here. The Vernee Apollo is also expected to ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with some of the company’s additional software included on the inside, though you will get a relatively stock experience here.
