Vivo X9 & Vivo X9 Plus Are Official With Two Selfie Shooters

Vivo has been one of the most successful China-based smartphone manufacturing companies this year. The company had managed to become China’s third-largest smartphone manufacturer in terms of shipments this year, at least based on their results from the third quarter of 2016. Vivo had improved their sales over 100% in Q3 2016 compared to the same period last year. The company’s Vivo X7 and Vivo X7 Plus have been selling extremely well for Vivo, and their successors, the Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus, have been leaking for a long time now. Well, Vivo had announced the Vivo Xplay6 today, their new flagship with a curved display, and along with that high-end handset, the company has outed the Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus, as expected.

These two smartphones are mid-range offerings by the company, though they can be considered to be mid-to-high-end smartphones. The Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus handsets are both made out of metal, and are basically identical in terms of the design, though the Vivo X9 Plus is the bigger one, in case you were wondering. Both of these phones ship with a fullHD Super AMOLED panels, but the Vivo X9 comes with a 5.5-inch display, while you’ll find a 5.88-inch panel on the Vivo X9 Plus. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 64-bit octa-core SoC fuels the Vivo X9, while the Snapdragon 653 64-bit octa-core SoC can be found on the inside of the Vivo X9 Plus. Both devices come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Vivo’s Funtouch OS 3.0 on top of it, while both of them also feature a home button / fingerprint scanner below the display. There are two SIM card slots available in both the Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus, while you’ll find the same 16-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture, PDAF) on the back of both of these devices as well. The 20-megapixel front-facing unit (Sony’s IMX376 sensor, f/2.0 aperture) is also present in both devices, and next to it, you’ll find a secondary, 8-megapixel shooter as well.

Both phones offer fast charging as well, and speaking of the battery, the Vivo X9 comes with a 3,050mAh battery unit, while you’ll find a 4,000mAh battery in the Vivo X9 Plus. The Vivo X9 sports 4GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of internal storage, while the Vivo X9 Plus packs in 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of native storage. The Vivo X9 and Vivo X9 Plus come in Gold and Rose Gold color variants, the two Vivo X9 variants (64GB and 128GB storage ones) are priced at 2,798 Yuan ($407), while we still don’t know the pricing for the Vivo X9 Plus models. The Vivo X9 is already available for pre-order in China, and Vivo will reveal the pricing for the Vivo X9 Plus on December 26th.
