Twitter introduced a new addition to its Moments feature back in September of this year. Basically, the feature lets you create a collection of relevant tweets which then can be shared with your friends and followers. Before September, “Moments” were curated automatically by Twitter. While the feature was only available on the web version of Twitter at the time of launch, now, Twitter officially announced that Moments is now available for Android and iOS apps as well.
The feature comes in handy, especially when you want to share a collection of tweets of the same topic, for example, during a sporting event, you can create a collection of tweets that include, tweets of score updates and commentary to give a better picture of the ongoing game. The fact that Twitter has a character limit of 140 words for a single tweet, Moments will probably help create richer experiences on one of the most popular social media platforms. Creating your Moments is easy, all you have to do is: open up the Twitter app on your device, locate the tweets you want to make a collection of, then click on drop-down arrow placed on the top right corner, and select “Add to Moment” from the options to start making your Moments. Not only that, you can even customize your Moments to create a unique experience, for instance, you can rearrange the order of the tweets, set background colors for tweets which only has text content, select a cover, and finally write a description and title for your Moment.
To get the feature, you will need to be running on the latest version of the Twitter app. It’s not clear whether this is a server side roll out or you’ll need an app update to get the feature working. At the time of writing this story, we were unable to get this feature working on the latest version, 6.24.0 to be precise, of the Twitter app, so a new app update might be on the way which will turn on this feature. In any case, if you want to try out this cool feature, hit the link below to update/download the Twitter app now on your device, and if you’re not seeing any new update yet, it’s worth waiting for a couple of days as staged software roll outs often take some time to reach every device.
