ASUS is one of the largest Asian tech companies out there. This Taiwan-based company is probably best known for their PC laptops, though their smartphones have become quite popular in the last couple of years as well. ASUS had introduced a number of Android-powered ZenFone 3 smartphones this year, led by the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra smartphones which were introduced back in May. The company had re-announced these three phones for the Indian smartphone market back in August, though the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra were not available in the country straight away, they actually were not available until now.
The company has just announced that the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra are available in India. The former is the ASUS’ flagship for this year, while the latter is their rather large mid-range phablet offering. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe features a 5.7-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 256GB of expandable internal storage. This phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 821 SoC (depending on the version), and it comes with a 3,000mAh battery (Quick Charge 3.0 included). The ZenFone 3 Deluxe is, much like the ZenFone 3 Ultra, made out of metal, and it ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the company’s Zen UI 3.0 on top of it. The 23-megapixel snapper (Sony’s IMX318 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens, 4-axis OIS, Laser AF) is placed on the back of both the ZenFone 3 Deluxe and ZenFone 3 Ultra, and the same can be said for an 8-megapixel front-facing camera (f/2.0 aperture, 85-degree wide-angle lens). Both of these devices ship with a hybrid dual SIM setup (micro + nano SIM / microSD).
The ZenFone 3 Ultra, on the other hand, sports more or less the same software as the ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and it features a 6.8-inch fullHD panel as well. The device ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage. The 4,600mAh battery is available here, and the same goes for Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging. Both of these phones also ship with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, just in case you were wondering. The ZenFone 3 Deluxe comes in Glacier Silver and Sand Gold color variants, the 64GB storage (+Snapdragon 820 SoC) variant costs Rs. 49,999 ($732) in India, while the 256GB storage (+Snapdragon 821 SoC) model can be purchased for Rs. 62,999 ($922). The ZenFone 3 Ultra, on the other hand, can be acquired in Titanium Gray and Glacier Silver color variants, and costs Rs. 49,999 ($732) In India. Both devices are already available through ASUS’ Preferred Partner’s retail outlets, as well as all major online sales portals.
