BLU Launches BLU Life Max $120 Android Smartphone

The Californian phone maker BLU may not be a huge name in the smartphone industry, but the Miami-based company still managed to build a relatively positive image in the last seven years. Above all, BLU is known for offering incredibly cheap Android phones that punch way above their weight. Today, the company debuted yet another device which continues this tradition, the BLU Life Max. For less than $120, this device seems like the ultimate low-end smartphone which actually doesn’t seem that low-end at all.

Namely, the BLU Life Max is fueled by a MediaTek-made 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, and a massive 3,700mAh battery which should keep the device powered for quite some time. On the outside, the phone boasts a 5.5-inch display featuring a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. While this phone’s resolution isn’t anything to write home about, it does ensure excellent battery life. Coupled with the huge battery mentioned above, BLU claims that this device is capable of offering up to three days of standard usage on a single charge. The phone also boasts a Dual SIM slot, as well as 16GB of internal storage. Furthermore, the BLU Life Max features a metal finish and a rear fingerprint scanner, which is not only impressive for a device priced at less than $120 but also shows how cheap mobile fingerprint scanners became to manufacture seeing how the Miami-based company is still selling its devices at a profit.

The BLU Life Max ships with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is 154.5 x 77.1 x 8.7 mm in size. It weighs 153 grams, which means it’s about as heavy as the Samsung Galaxy S7. The phone is currently only sold in Dark Blue, or to be more specific, it’s already sold out in this color. As explained by the Amazon listing of this device, the BLU Life Max is temporarily out of stock and will hopefully be available shortly. Of course, it remains to be seen what kind of software support will BLU offer for a $120 device, but that isn’t to say this phone doesn’t offer great value for money.
