The Bluboo Edge is one of the latest smartphones to be released from Bluboo Mobile and one of its major selling point is its design. In particular, the fact that it employs the use of dual curved edges, much like you will find on a number of other popular smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Since the initial announcement from Bluboo, most of the details on the Bluboo Edge have been confirmed including the features that on offer, as well as the base specs. Of course with any new smartphone, while the specs might be numerically right, that does not necessarily mean that the smartphone performs well. As a result, Bluboo Mobile has released a new video which looks to detail how well the Bluboo Edge performs. In fact, the smartphone is even seen going up against a number of familiar faces in the video, including the iPhone 7 Plus, the Huawei P9 and the Samsung S7 Edge. Although, at first the Bluboo Edge is put through its paces on AnTuTu where the smartphone achieves a score of 28,689 – which is probably in line with what you might expect from a smartphone in this price bracket and one which sports firm mid-range specs.
Following the AnTuTu benchmarking, the Bluboo Edge is shown performing general multi-tasking duties, which it seems to handle well and without any noticeable issue, including highlighting its ability to be used while running multiple apps in the background. The next stage of the video shows the Bluboo Edge’s performance and response time for opening and closing apps and compares these times against the iPhone 7 Plus. Which is then followed by the same test with the Huawei P9 and then again, with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. While the Bluboo Edge does not respond quite as fast as some of the major smartphones it is being tested against, it does respond almost as well. Which is important to keep in mind, when considering the price difference between the Bluboo Edge and the devices it is being tested against.
In spite of seeming to perform well in the video, it is also worth keeping in mind that the design of the Bluboo Edge is the main selling point with this device. In addition to the curved edges, the Bluboo Edge looks to achieve a sleek and modern appearance with a minimal level of bezels a more reflective back cover. In terms of the rest of the numbers, the Bluboo Edge comes equipped with a 5.5-inch OGS display with a HD resolution, along with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and is powered by a MediaTek MT 6737 quad-core processor. Cameras comes in the form of a 13-megapixel rear camera, which is coupled with an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. While additional features include microSD card support, a fingerprint sensor, a heart rate monitor and Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
