Google Maps & Search Gaining Fitness Class Booking Feature

2016 is drawing to a close and soon enough, 2017 will be here. Along with the new year, some will be looking towards 2017 and considering what the next year will have in store for them. By the same token, there will be those who are looking to start their New Year’s resolutions and for some, that could mean getting into shape, either by frequenting the gym a little more often than usual or finding and joining a new fitness class. Speaking of which, to try and make that resolution a little easier to get started and maintain, Google has today announced the launch of its ‘Reserve with Google’ feature.

In short, the new service from Google looks to offer a quick and easy way to not only find fitness classes near your location, but to also book a place at those fitness classes. The feature seems to be fairly straightforward and Google has already launched a website where you can check out the new feature and book your first class. Once on the page, you will see all the classes near your location, as well as nearby spas, studios, and gyms. If you are unsure of what you want, then it seems Google will provide recommendations for “fun new classes” as well. When you find the class you are interested in taking part in, you will be able to register and/or pay for the class all without leaving the page you are on.

There is a caveat though and that is the new feature is only available in select areas. Which does mean that you will currently have to live in Los Angeles, New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area to take part. For everyone else, heading over to the new website will provide some information about what the new service offers, but will stipulate the feature has yet to become available in that area. Although, the website does detail that the service is ‘expanding quickly’ and that does seem to be the case – as in the same blog announcement, Google also confirmed that the new feature will be available directly via Google Search and Google Maps in “the coming days”. In the meantime you can check out the new feature in more detail by heading through the source link below. Alternatively, if you are one of those who live in Los Angeles, New York City or the San Francisco Bay Area, you can head through the ‘Reserve with Google’ link below to start booking your next (or first) fitness class.
