Google Pixel Devices Have An Audio Issue, Video Proves It

Google had introduced two smartphones this year, the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL. These two devices are the first Pixel-branded phones to hit the market, and also the first two smartphones that have been designed by Google entirely, both their software and hardware, though HTC is manufacturing these two phones, but they did not have a say in their design. Having that in mind, the two phones have been available for purchase for a while now, and have been praised by various tech outlets and consumers alike, though there have been quite a few complaints as well, of course. Well, it seems like Google’s Pixel devices may have an audio bug of sorts, and it’s interesting this issue was not noticed earlier.

A rather interesting post surfaced on Reddit recently, and the user that shared it claims he had used 4 different Google Pixel XL devices (including 3 replacement units) due to a rather odd audio issue. He claims that this issue affects every single Google Pixel XL smartphone he used, including his wife’s Google Pixel as well. The problem occurs when you crank up the volume to one of the last three volume settings. When you do this, Google’s Pixel phones produce a ‘static distortion’, Badmark (affected user) said. It seems like other Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL owners are having similar issues with their smartphones, though it’s not exactly all that easy to notice at first. The issue is actually demonstrated in the video down below, just in case you’re interested in checking out what it’s about. The problem is demonstrated using the Perfect Piano app which is installed and used on three different Google Pixel devices, two Google Pixel XL smartphones, and one smaller Google Pixel phone. Now, in order to prove that this is a problem on the Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL, the source also ran the app on the Nexus 6, and he was unable to replicate the issue.

In any case, this seems to be a software issue, rather than a hardware one, though we cannot be sure of that, of course. We hope that Google is aware of this issue, and that they’re working on a fix, mainly considering quite a few people are displeased by this, even though some of them probably wouldn’t even notice the issue on their own.
