Huawei Watch No Longer Available From The Google Store

There has been a lot of talk recently about Android Wear and more specifically, what the future holds for the platform. Even more following the recent news that Moto seems to essentially, have no development plans for Android Wear (and smartwatches in general) in 2017 and possibly even beyond. While Moto is just one of the brands associated with Android Wear, they were responsible for one of the more popular Android Wear smartwatch lines – a line which is largely now accredited for starting the ’round display’ movement, the Moto 360.

Of course, what many consider to be the most popular Android Wear smartwatch now, or at least the best of what Android Wear has to offer, is the Huawei Watch. This is a device which launched in the latter part of last year and immediately gained praise for its design and more premium look and feel. Although, it a smartwatch which does comes with a premium price tag to boot.

That said, if you were planning on picking up the Huawei Watch anytime soon, it now looks as though the Google Store is not one of the places you will find it. It is currently unclear as to when the Huawei Watch was removed from the Google Store but it does seem to have now been removed. To be clear, the page is still accessible (via a direct link and/or Google Search), but trying to navigate your way to the Huawei Watch page is not possible from the Google Store itself. Likewise, the actual page listing does state that the Huawei Watch is ‘unavailable’. Note, not out of stock, but available. So to all purposes, it has now been removed from the Google Store. Although interestingly, the Google Store is still carrying available stock of some of the Huawei Watch accessories, like for instance, the Huawei Watch Charging Cradle. Of course, if you do have your heart set on picking up the Huawei Watch in the near future, it is still available via other outlets including Amazon, via the link below. Or you can opt for one of the few remaining options that are still listed on the Google Store, including the rather durable-looking Nixon Mission smartwatch.
