Instagram Stories is getting festive with holiday stickers, as the social media platform has just announced on their blog that they are releasing a series of stickers and new feature options to Stories to help get in the holiday spirit. Of course, not all of the new features are focused on the holidays. In fact, the ability to add stickers to Instagram Stories, holiday-themed or not, is a new feature so users will have access to a wide range of different stickers to fit their personality and mood whenever they want to spice things up a bit and make their stories more fun and unique.
That being said, the holiday stickers are something to focus on here as they will not be around forever. Instagram is only making them available for the next few weeks and then they’ll disappear. Included in the holiday options are the usual things you would associate with Christmas like candy canes and snowmen, and there are even stickers to help you give your stories their very own ugly sweater. It isn’t just about Christmas though. There are dreidel stickers and menorah stickers too, as well as a Christmas tree and a candy cane heart. Instagram is also adding some holiday-themed drawing tools with a candy cane brush just in case the sticker isn’t enough candy cane for your followers.
As for the regular stickers, there isn’t too much detail on what’s being added but users will have the option to add location stickers to their posts, so instead of adding a location to their story they can simply slap on a location sticker instead which lets users know where the story was recorded. Tapping on the location sticker in the story also brings up additional details about that location just as adding the regular location would, so they work basically the same way. Besides the stickers it will now be a lot easier to record video thanks to the newly added hands-free option. This can be found in the format picker, and will basically allow users to tap a single button to start recording video, so it certainly emphasizes saving time and making things more convenient and quick. You’ll also be able to text to all your photos and videos, and you can add to your heart’s content. These changes should be taking place starting today, but there’s always the chance that it might take a little while for them to show up for some users as they are part of the version 10.3 update.
