Meizu had announced a number of smartphones this year, including some high-end devices, like the Meizu PRO 6s and Meizu PRO 6 Plus, and some more affordable offerings, like the Meizu M5, for example. The Meizu M5 was announced quite recently, and it is made out of polycarbonate. Meizu introduces several ‘M’ devices every year, both smaller, and larger ones. The larger Meizu-branded mid-ranger are usually released under the ‘M Note’ branding, while the smaller handsets come without the ‘Note’ part in their name. Having that in mind, the company has just announced Meizu M5’s counterpart, the Meizu M5 Note which was leaking quite frequently in the last couple of weeks, read on.

The Meizu M5 Note actually resembles its predecessor, the Meizu M3 Note quite a bit. Meizu has apparently decided to skip the ‘M4’ naming completely, we’re still not sure why, but number 4 is considered to be unlucky in China, so that could be the reason. In any case, the Meizu M5 Note is made out of metal, and it sports three physical keys on its body, the home button below the display, and two sets of buttons on the right, the power / lock key, and the volume rocker keys. The Meizu M5 Note features a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080, 403PPI) 2.5D curved glass display, along with 3GB / 4GB of RAM and 16GB / 32GB / 64GB of expandable internal storage (up to 128GB via a microSD card). The device is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Mali T860 GPU. On the back of the Meizu M5 Note you’ll be able to find a 13-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture, PDAF) with the dual-LED, dual tone flash, while the 5-megapixel shooter is placed on the front side of this mid-ranger. Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the Meizu M5 Note, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Meizu’s Flyme 6.0 OS, their very own Android-based skin. The Meizu M5 Note packs in two SIM card slots, we’re looking at two micro SIM card slots, and the second SIM slot can be used to expand the phone’s internal storage, all you have to do is pop in a microSD card in there. The Meizu M5 Note packs in a 4,000mAh battery (+18W fast charging) which is not removable, and a fingerprint scanner is placed inside of the phone’s home button, and it can unlock the device in just 0.2 seconds, says Meizu. The company also mentioned that the signal strength on the Meizu M5 Note is twice as strong (2dB) compared to the Meizu M3 Note.

The Meizu M5 Note comes in Silver, Gray, Blue and Champagne Gold color variants, as you can see in the gallery down below. Meizu has decided to offer more color variants for their ‘M Note’ device this time around, and we’re sure consumers will appreciate it.
