In today’s age of smartphones, there’s a mobile app for everything. The mobile app market may have reached the point of saturation in developed countries, but that isn’t to say there’s no more money to be made from it, especially if you know how to advertise your product. Not surprisingly, one of the most efficient ways to promote an app is to attach a famous name to it.
And that brings us to Bold Moves, a casual mobile game developed by the digital division of the Oprah Winfrey Network, also known as OWN. More specifically, Bold Moves was developed by OWN Digital in collaboration with RED Games, a game development unit of the Santa Monica-based customer experience agency RED Interactive. The game originally debuted on the iOS App Store a couple of months ago and was mostly met with positive reactions from mobile users. As of last Friday, Bold Moves is also available for download from the Google Play Store.
OWN Digital claims that Bold Moves is the first ever freemium title that combines elements of match-three and word puzzle games. The concept of the game itself is rather simple; players are tasked with matching various colors and collecting individual letters with the goal of uncovering certain phrases hidden within each level. Once you’ve completed a level in Bold Moves, you’ll be rewarded with an inspirational quote from a modern philosopher or a pop icon. While seemingly random in nature, all of the quotes present in the game have been featured by OWN over the course of the last decade. Like many other casual mobile games on the market, Bold Moves also boasts social media integration which allows you to share all unlocked quotes with your friends directly from the app. You can download Bold Moves from the Google Play Store free of charge. Naturally, the game also features optional in-app purchases which can facilitate your progress. Note that Bold Moves still isn’t available worldwide, though a global rollout should begin shortly. All in all, this seems like a good option for people who enjoy accessible mobile games to pass the time, so Bold Moves will likely find an audience which appreciates it.
