The HTC X10 could land next month, if a rumor from China is to be believed. According to the provided info, HTC’s upcoming mid-ranger, the X10, will be announced in January as a successor to the HTC One X9 which was introduced back in December 2015. Now, considering this will be a mid-range smartphone, don’t expect it to sport the latest and greatest specs, but if the source’s info is accurate, the HTC X10 will be good enough for most people, at least in the spec department.
If the source is to be believed, the HTC X10 will sport a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display and 3GB of RAM. The phone will be fueled by the Helio P10 64-bit octa-core processor by MediaTek, and the Mali-T860 GPU will be included for graphics rendering. The SoC will be clocked at 2GHz, while the GPU will run at 700MHz. On the back of this phone, you can expect to see a 13-megapixel OIS camera, while the device is expected to cost around $290. So, as you can see, the HTC X10 will actually be quite similar to the HTC One X9 in terms of specs, the company is not looking to add that much more power to the HTC X10, at least based on the provided info, which you should take with a grain of salt, as this is just a rumor after all.
The HTC X10 will probably be made out of metal, just like its predecessor, and a number of other devices HTC released in the last year or so. HTC is not exactly selling all that many phones at the moment, and it has been that way for a while now, so the company is probably looking to improve upon that by releasing compelling, and yet somewhat affordable devices to the market, though with such a price tag, the HTC X10 might not be the solution they’re looking for, but we’ll see, as already mentioned, this is just a rumor. HTC is also expected to release their new flagship, the HTC 11, in a couple of months, the phone will probably land in Q1 next year during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, and you can expect to see a number of rumors and leaks to surface before then.
