Snapseed is one of many Android apps available for editing pictures, and it’s likely one of the most popular ones around. It’s available on both iOS and Android, and allows you to add all sorts of filters, frames and more to the pictures you’ve taken. In a recent update, it also added the ability to edit RAW images, which is something that photographers love, as they prefer to shoot in RAW anyways. Today, Snapseed began rolling out a new version of their app, bringing it to version 2.14, and it brings plenty of bug fixes.
One of the major changes in this version of Snapseed is definitely the ability to export your photos to your SD card. This is something that wasn’t possible before, but it is now. You do need to enable it in the settings menu though, but that’s a quick and easy thing to do. This way if you edit a lot of pictures in Snapseed, you can still keep the space on your internal storage free, and keep all your pictures on your SD card.
The team also noted that on the Android app, the Perspective tool has reverted to the old horizontal and vertical adjustment modes. This is something that users had been asking to return, so it’s great to see that the team has listened to their users and brought it back. This also allows you “to apply any kind of transformation and perspective adjustment you can think of.” Snapseed has also refreshed the presets for the Face filter, this is going to give you more options for enhancements that can be done quickly and easily.
This is the last update for Snapseed before the holidays, so you won’t see much more from them in the coming weeks. Which is typical of Google apps and services. They typically update all of their apps before the holidays get started, with mostly bug fixes and a few small features. That way users are happy, and they can start fresh in the new year.
