Two New Moto Mods Now Available Through Verizon Wireless

Earlier this month, two new Moto Mods for the Motorola Moto Z series have been confirmed by Lenovo and Verizon Wireless in the US, and today Motorola is officially bringing these new accessories to the market. First, there is the Mophie Juice Pack which has been up for pre-order at Verizon Wireless since last month, and the second Moto Mod is the Incipio Vehicle Dock which has eluded pre-orders thus far.

Starting off with the Mophie Juice Pack, this Moto Mod consists of a 3,150 mAh battery bank said to improve the battery capacity of members of the Moto Z Family by roughly 60%. The Mod weighs 112 grams, it measures 153.11 x 73.65 x 8.4 millimeters, and also takes advantage of an Efficiency Mode “which helps you get up to 25% more battery life”, as well as support for fast charging through an independent USB-C connector. Moving on to the second Moto Mod, the Incipio Vehicle Dock is described as the “perfect” Mod for “on-the-go folks” aiming to travel from point to point more efficiently. Essentially, the Incipio Vehicle Dock is – as the name suggests – a vehicle-centric Moto Mod designed to offer hands-free navigation and calling, as well as audio integration. The Mod connects to a vehicle’s audio system through Bluetooth or an auxiliary 3.5-millimeter jack, and takes advantage of Android Auto (has to be downloaded separately via Google Play), giving drivers a clean user interface to work with and “powerful new voice actions”. Additionally, the Incipio Vehicle Dock comes with a magnetic phone mount that can be secured to an air vent, and also supports up to 15W fast charging.

Both the Mophie Juice Pack and Incipio Vehicle Dock are now available for purchase in the United States through Verizon Wireless, where the Mods will work in conjunction with the carrier’s Moto Z “Droid” variants. As far as pricing is concerned, the Mophie battery bank is available for $79.99, while the Incipio Vehicle Dock comes with a price tag of $64.99. These two new products expand Motorola’s current Mod portfolio to a total of 6 add-ons (sans the Moto Style Shell), but as per recent reports, Lenovo is now working on releasing around 12 Mods every year.
