It hasn’t been too long since Xiaomi introduced the Piston 3 Pro headphones in its home country, and now the company is bringing a new pair of in-ear headphones to the U.S. market, boasting a similar exterior design but a different name and price tag. Dubbed the Xiaomi Mi Pro HD In-Ear Headphones, the product is now available for purchase stateside from the official Xiaomi webpage for the price of $39.99.
What you’ll get for the aforementioned price is a pair of in-ear headphones equipped with a microphone and metal in-line remote, stretchable matte wiring for extra durability, and overall an “all-new design” featuring patented hybrid dual-dynamic and balanced armature drivers boasting “lesser distortion to the music” with the help of a capacitive divider. The headphones’ diaphragm has been manufactured from graphene, which is the strongest, thinnest, and “most eco-friendly material capable of transmitting sound”. It is 100 times stronger than steel and is capable of conducting 100% of electrical signals it receives. According to Xiaomi, the manufacturer decided on using a graphene dual-diaphragm in order to deliver “a superior sound in the mid and bass ranges” all the while retaining the “rich details” and keeping low notes “mellow”. The dual-diaphragm resides in a CNC diamond cut aluminium alloy sound chamber crafted with up to 0.01-millimeter precision, and the chambers’ exterior has been finished in zircon sand and an “anodized layer of 6μ hardness” to ensure a surface resistant to scratches and higher protection against wear and tear.
Xiaomi’s product page for the Mi Pro HD In-Ear Headphones also mentions that the product has been tested in “over 700 reliability tests” and has “far surpassed industry standards.” The company has conducted tests on button and speaker lifespan, heat resistivity, material reliability, remote compatibility, UV resistance, diaphragm strength and more, including salt spray tests. All in all, it would appear that the Xiaomi Mi Pro HD headphones launched in the United States are very much the same as the Piston 3 Pro headphones released by Xiaomi in China last month.
