Ghostek's LG G6 Case May Show The Phone's Final Design

Ghostek’s LG G6 case may show the phone’s final design, and although this still can’t be confirmed to be the LG G6, the design of the phone as shown in these product images for the case match up with the design of the phone in previously leaked renders, suggesting that the design has been right since those renders initially surfaced. What’s interesting about this particular leak is that you can clearly see the back of the device, and it looks a whole lot like metal and not glass, and if that’s the case then LG’s G6 could have a removable back and a removable battery after all. Although, a glass back is not entirely out of the question as it’s still not clear what the material is that’s being used.

In addition to giving a hint as to the material used for the back, one image of the case shows the bottom while highlighting the case’s capped cutouts (as this is a waterproof case), and the cutout itself looks to be shaped like a USB Type-C port, which seems to further solidify LG using USB Type-C for the G6 as the charging and data transfer port. Something else to note though, is that the LG G6 has also been rumored to be waterproof, and if the phone is waterproof then it wouldn’t necessarily need a cap for the open ports. That being said there may be nothing to read into with that last detail and the caps may just be there to add extra protection from the elements.

There are also two cutouts on either side of the charging port which you might think would suggest downward-facing dual speakers, but one of the images actually shows one speaker to the right of the charging port, while a mic seems to be what the cutout to the left of the charging port is for. The case also shows the phone with a metal frame, as well as a back-mounted fingerprint sensor sitting just below the camera module with dual camera sensors on either side of the dual LED Flash. The top view of the case also shows a 3.5mm audio port, so unlike some other devices, LG appears to be keeping the headphone jack so users won’t be forced to use a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter. Although nothing is official until next month at LG’s announcement, this certainly appears to be the LG G6. This would also be the second phone that Ghostek has leaked, as they recently unveiled a case for the Samsung Galaxy S8 back on January 11th.
