Huawei Launches Flagship Mate 9 Phablet In The US For $599

The Huawei Mate 9 was originally introduced back on November 3rd in Berlin, but the company did not make the phone available in the US, well, until now. Huawei has now officially launched the Huawei Mate 9 in the States for $599, and the announcement occurred during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. For comparison’s sake, the device costs €699 ($736) in Germany, so it’s quite obvious that it’s considerably more affordable in the US, it’s approximately $37 cheaper in the US. The Huawei Mate 9 is the most powerful smartphone this company has introduced, well, next to the Huawei Mate 9 Pro (China only) and the luxury Porsche Design Mate 9 handset. The Huawei Mate 9 is made out of metal, its 4,000 mAh battery is not removable (it comes with fast charging), and it features a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The 5.9-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display comes with the Huawei Mate 9, and the phone packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Huawei is very proud of Mate 9’s camera prowess, as the phone comes with a dual camera setup on the back, and both of those cameras come with Leica’s lenses on top of them. The 20-megapixel and 12-megapixel cameras are placed on the back of the Huawei Mate 9, and an 8-megapixel shooter can be found on the phone’s front side. The Huawei Mate 9 is fueled by Huawei’s most powerful SoC currently available, the 64-bit octa-core Kirin 960 processor, and the Mali-G71 MP8 GPU is here for graphics processing.
