LG To Improve Smart Doctor And More Apps With AI Tech

LG is planning to improve the Smart Doctor, Quick Help, and LG Electronics Remote Consulting apps with machine learning features and other solutions powered by advanced artificial intelligence technologies, the South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer announced on Monday. The company’s decision to ennoble its set of mobile tools comes as a part of a more general strategy to implement machine learning technology into after sales smartphone services. In addition to artificial intelligence, the Seoul-based tech giant is also looking into ennobling its services with big data analytics and similar solutions. The update process is expected to start during the first quarter of the year with the company currently focusing on providing remote after sales services via its selection of apps. While the Quick Help app is still only available in South Korea, LG promised to bring it to North America later this year. The Seoul-based firm said this move is the beginning of a new international strategy focused on improving its services in the long term.

Apart from the company gradually improving its products, this new approach to developing after sales services is also expected to result in the thereof improving on their own seeing how they’ll soon be powered by machine learning, a technology that allows AI solutions to learn new operations without being specifically programmed for each individual task. In the short term, LG believes its Smart Doctor will provide faster and more accurate diagnoses, in addition to offering a more personalized user experience. While contemporary AI solutions still aren’t close to replacing human technicians when it comes to complex tasks, the Seoul-based company believes its upcoming machine learning integration will still prove to be an efficient move. Namely, the company’s representatives revealed that most visits to its service centers resulted in simple software fixes that AIs can handle on their own.

The South Korean tech giant believes that remote after sales services will not only reduce operational costs but also ensure a better user experience seeing how customers won’t have to visit physical service centers as much as they used to. LG is currently planning to update its Smart Doctor app with dozens of new diagnoses and the ability to alert users about severe hardware and software failures. Additionally, Smart Doctor will soon be able to optimize apps and suggest screen brightness settings for the purpose of conserving battery life. The LG Electronics Remote Consulting and Quick Help apps will be updated with more robust analytics capabilities, but the company has yet to reveal specific details about this endeavor.
