Misfit Announces Their New Smartwatch Called 'Vapor'

Misfit has just announced their new smartwatch, called Vapor, which is not only their latest tracker but also their very first touchscreen device which has a display you can actually interact with. This is however, technically Misfit’s second watch, as they unveiled the Phase towards the end of last year, which was a smartwatch and fitness tracker hybrid. The Vapor is a bit of a departure for Misfit compared to what they normally offer, but all that means is that it will carry all the features that consumers are used to seeing from Misfit plus the added benefit of having a touch display, making interaction with the device a whole lot simpler as you won’t be limited to seeing and managing your fitness data from the companion app, although you will still be able to if you prefer it.

The Misfit Vapor is packed with functions, and although it is a smartwatch it is still one which is fitness-focused, which makes it all the more exciting for people who like to keep active as the Vapor can support itself as a standalone music player. If you like to have tunes during your run or other exercises the Vapor has you covered. In addition to the music player functionality the watch is capable of all sorts of other stuff, and most of it is what you might expect from a fitness wearable these days.

It has integrated GPS so you can track your runs or walks, and it can track your heart rate as well as your sleep, so you can monitor how well rested you are each morning as well as how hard you’re working yourself during exercise. The Vapor will come equipped with a 1.39-inch display, and it features a fully circular design while also using an AMOLED panel so visuals will crisp and sharp. It has Bluetooth functionality for connecting headphones if you’re going to stream music and it even has a touch interactive bezel for navigation, which, Misfit is touting will make browsing through content a lot easier, and likely more efficient. The watch will be have Qualcomm’s dedicated wearable processor inside, the Snapdragon Wear 2100, and it’s got 4GB of internal memory so the specs are pretty much on par with other smartwatches that are on the market. The watch is also connectable to Wi-Fi if you need it, and it will come in two colors of Jet Black and Rose Gold for the watch case with varying colors for the band as shown above. Misfit says the the target launch date for the Vapor is set for the Summertime this year at a price of $199.
