New T-Mobile Promo Offers Cash Back on All Smartphones

It’s tax season, and T-Mobile’s latest promotion is going to give you a reason to spend your refund on a new smartphone from the magenta carrier. The carrier announced today that they will be giving you at least what you paid for in taxes, back when you purchase a new smartphone, beginning February 1st – which is this Wednesday. Actually, they are going to be giving you about 11.2% back in the form of a prepaid MasterCard, so expect it to take a few months to actually arrive.

According to the blog post that T-Mobile published today, you can do this both online or in-store. You’ll need to buy a new smartphone on an Equipment Installment Plan or EIP. And you can get cash back on every line, up to 12 lines. Then you’ll need to submit your information online and you’ll get your prepaid MasterCard within 60 days. Depending on the device, 11.2% could be over $100 cash back for what you paid for your device. Which means that they are going with the full retail price, and not what you are paying to walk out with a new phone (which often times is $0 down). And since it does come in the form of a prepaid MasterCard, you can use it on whatever you like, you could even use it to pay down your EIP on that device sooner.

This is available for all users on the Simple Choice Unlimited or T-Mobile ONE plan. So unfortunately, those without unlimited are stuck out in the cold for now. T-Mobile is offering up this promotion on every single smartphone that they sell. Whether that is the LG Aristo, the Samsung Galaxy S7 or even the iPhone 7 Plus. Every single one is eligible for 11.2% cash back. T-Mobile also notes that if you do happen to live in Puerto Rico, you will get 11.55% cash back on whatever smartphone you pick up. There’s currently no word on how long this promotion is going to last, but it’ll likely last through the tax season (remember taxes are due on April 15th).
