OnePlus has started pushing out a new update to the OnePlus 2, an update which is supposed to fix network drop issues on OnePlus 2 units. Some of you might recall we’ve reported that you should avoid installing the Oxygen OS 3.5.5 update for the OnePlus 2 until the company fixes issues in that update, well, OnePlus has just started seeding the Oxygen OS 3.5.6 update which is supposed to address the network drop issues the OnePlus 2 devices were struck with, and this update is not supposed to be plagued with issues from the Oxygen OS 3.5.5 package.
OnePlus 2 users have been complaining when it comes to network drops for quite some time now, and OnePlus has decided to fix such issues on the device. This update only fixes network drops it seems, as it’s more of a hotfix than anything else, so don’t expect any new features included in this update. Also, do keep in mind that the update might not be available for every single one of you at the moment, as OnePlus is first pushing it to a small batch of users, after which they’ll push it to pretty much everyone, in stages. OnePlus assures us that the update will roll out to everyone really soon, though, so there’s that. The company also mentioned that they’re working on a fix for OnePlus 2 IMEI loss issue, we still don’t know when will they roll out an update for that, but OnePlus wanted to assure us that they’re already working on a fix for such issues, and that we can expect an update in the near future, so hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
The OnePlus 2 is, as many of you know, OnePlus’ flagship for 2015. This handset was introduced back in June 2016, and it has been immensely successful for OnePlus.
