EA’s popular casual game Plants vs Zombies 2 has gained a new Power Plants feature and new quests as part of the game’s recent Power Plants update that just hit the Play Store. If you’re a fan of Plants vs Zombies 2 then you’ll have a handful of new content to enjoy and it should add an element of new strategy for a different way to play. With this update, EA Games and PopCap are allowing players to upgrade their plants making them more powerful with each upgrade, hence the name power plants.
Of course, upgrading your plants doesn’t just make your plants more powerful, but you can attach bonuses to them spanning from a nice little variety of options. If you’re the type of person who has always felt that their plants were growing a little too slow, upgrading your plants can allow them to grow even faster than before so you’re gaining more plants in less time, which means more ways to damage zombies that are coming your way. The bonuses from upgrades can also enable plants to cause more damage while also costing less sun, both of which should be beneficial if you play often, or even a little bit. To upgrade your plants you’ll need seed packets which you can acquire multiple ways.
Each plant will have a specific number of seed packets that it needs to be upgraded, and while you can simply grab these from the in-game store if you choose to spend money, the new quests which were added as part of this update will also allow you to pick some up. In these new quests, completing them gives you the chance to earn a piñata which has the ability to contain these seed packets. PopCap notes that some piñatas are specific to certain worlds, but if you don’t happen to get the one you need the new quests boast a faster respawn time so you can try your hand at them again in hopes of acquiring the necessary items. When you’re ready to follow through with the upgrade, an new upgrade button will be located inside of the plant almanac, and from there you simply tap the upgrade button and you’ll be on your way. The update should already be live in the Play Store for everyone.
