Rumor: OPPO Find 9 Flagship To Launch In H1 2017 With SD835

The OPPO Find 9 has been subject to many rumors in the last couple of years, and if the newest report is to be believed, the company is actually planning to release this smartphone in the first half of this year. This new rumor reports that the OPPO Find 9 is definitely in OPPO’s plans, and that it will be arriving in the first half of 2017, and it’s about time, as its predecessor, the Oppo Find 7 landed back in 2014, so it’s really odd that OPPO did not opt to introduce a new ‘Find’ smartphone to date.

For those of you who don’t know, the OPPO Find 7 was the company’s flagship back in 2014, and the OPPO Find 9 is actually expected to pack in the latest and greatest specs. Now, according to the new rumor, one of OPPO’s executives confirmed that the OPPO Find 9 is on its way, though no additional info was provided by the source, so we don’t know exactly which exec did it. The Oppo Find 9 is expected to be made out of metal, at least partially, and the device is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Dual Edge AMOLED display, 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. If this device gets released in the first half of this year, chances are that the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC will be included in the package. This SoC was introduced by Qualcomm during CES 2017 a couple of days ago, and is a chip that you’ll be able to find in a number of devices this year. Needless to say, we’re talking about Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC to date here. In addition to every said here, the OPPO Find 9 is also expected to ship with a new AI operating system called Find OS, though nothing has been confirmed just yet.

OPPO had launched a couple of really interesting phones this year, including the OPPO R9 and OPPO R9 Plus. Neither of those devices are high-end offerings, though, so the OPPO Find 9 could fill that gap for the company. OPPO managed to grow quite a bit in the last couple of years, and are currently the second-largest smartphone manufacturer in China based on their sales numbers, at least according to the last available information.
