Numerous Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge owners around the globe are reporting an issue with their displays, whereby a pink line appears vertically on their displays. Users have flooded Samsung’s forums as well as forums of a number of carriers, demanding a fix. However, it doesn’t seem like a software issue is the cause of the ordeal. While Samsung hasn’t acknowledged this issue yet, some carriers around the world have acknowledged the problem and have started replacing units experiencing the issue which are still under warranty.
This issue isn’t entirely new as it was first reported by some Galaxy S7 Edge users last summer. Many users have tried rectifying the problem by software means but to no avail, so the pink line mentioned above is likely caused by the hardware. Some users have managed to rectify the issue, but only with a temporary fix. If you are looking for a temporary fix, you can reset the display of your Galaxy S7 Edge by heading to the service menu and dialing *#0*#, followed by tapping on the Blue, Green and Red colors simultaneously. It might not work on the first try, so it is best to try it a few times. Some users have also reported that by pressing on the top of the display situated below the Samsung logo, the pink line will disappear, though that fix is only temporary, as well. While the pink line may be annoying, it is only the beginning of a much worse problem. After some time, the display may turn black and can’t be fixed by any means. Samsung hasn’t come out with an official statement regarding the matter but customer service officials on the company’s forum have recommended customers facing the said issue to head over to Samsung service centers and hand in their devices for evaluation.
Just yesterday, Samsung held a press conference regarding the huge fiasco the company went through last year with the Galaxy Note 7 and blamed batteries for the entire ordeal. While Samsung was forced to recall all Galaxy Note 7 units in the wild, the company just announced much higher profits than many expected.
