Star Wars: Force Arena Officially Launches On Google Play

Star Wars: Force Arena officially launches on Google Play today, allowing fans of the Star Wars franchise as well as strategy games to dive in and save the galaxy from the clutches of the Empire. While you’ll find lots of old favorites from earlier Star Wars films as playable characters, the game also includes characters from newer movies, too, including some from the recently released Rogue One which just hit theaters back in December. This is a global launch today, which means that the game should be available for any Android user where the Play Store is accessible.

As this is a strategy game there are a fair amount of different elements to pay attention to, but not so many that it makes it too difficult to understand and get used to. In fact, you’re run through a nice little tutorial at the very start of the game to familiarize you with all you need to know to jump in so you’re prepared for battle. Gameplay takes on the form of 1v1 or 2v2 PvP arena battles, and the main goal is to ultimately destroy the other team’s base, but to do that you’ll first need to eliminate and get past the enemy turrets and destroy the shield generator that’s protecting the base.

Each team has their own team leader and is capable of calling in support from multiple types of ground units both long and close range for ranged attacks and melee attacks, and you can even call in air support from ships if you need to do some really heavy damage. Squad members are all based on cards you can collect of which there are over 80 cards in-game to snag. You can also upgrade your units to make them more powerful and do more damage, which you’ll need as you progress through the game and face more challenging opponents. Players will have the opportunity to create and join guilds with other players as well as compete in bi-weekly events. Guilds are allowed a total of 50 players max, although to access the guild system you have to first reach level 3. Although there will be many more events for the game in the future, Netmarble is kicking things off with a launch event that goes until January 20th which allows players to jump into the game and earn tons of rewards for checking in on a daily basis, and the rewards will include all sorts of useful in-game content like in-game currency in the form of crystals, as well as leader cards, gold card packs, and booster packs. Star Wars: Force Arena is already live on the Play Store to download if you’re ready to save the galaxy.
