TCL has just launched a home monitoring kit at CES 2017. TCL’s new home monitoring kit is called ‘LIFE’, and it offers a full set of various devices which are supposed to transform your home into a smart and connected one. This new monitoring kit includes a camera, door and window sensors, motion detector and a home bridge device which links all of the aforementioned gadgets into a single, functioning unit.
TCL’s LIFE Home Monitoring Kit is supposed to be an affordable option for those of you who are looking to secure your home. All of the aforementioned devices are rather easy to install, and you only need a single app to control them all, LIFEAPP, an app which is available for Android 4.0+ smartphones. “LIFE Home Monitoring Kit not only keeps people’s house secure from intrusion when they are not in, but also enables them to take a look at their elderly parents and young children whenever they want. It gives assurance that everything is ok,” said Vittorio Di Mauro, Senior Vice President and Smart Connectivity Division Director of TCL Communications. The LIFECAM WiFi IP camera supports a 100-degree angle view, and comes with a 4x digital zoom capability. This camera can see what’s going on in the dark, and can record a video of up to 720p resolution at 30 FPS, while it also offers a two-way audio system and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The LIFECAM WiFi IP camera is a relatively small product, as it’s supposed to be. The LIFESENSE and LIFEDETECT sensors are TCL’s door and window sensors which are supposed to send alerts when an intruder enters your house. These two sensors support ZigBee protocol, and the battery is supposed to last up to 2 years for both of these devices, though that will depend on your usage, of course.
The LIFECONNECT home bridge connects with the home getaway, and links all the aforementioned devices together into a single unit. You will also need the LIFEAPP application if you intend on using the TCL Home Monitoring Kit, as already mentioned, and this app connects directly to LIFECONNECT. TCL’s new LIFE Home Monitoring Kit will become available worldwide through retailers and operators starting from March 2017.
