A new video comparison allegedly displays the Nokia 8’s video stabilization capabilities, showing what could be another look at Nokia’s upcoming smartphone that is said to run Android and be released in regions outside of China. While there is very little confirmed details about the Nokia 8 right now, the video below shows one version of the phone running with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and another right beside it with a Snapdragon 835 processor while the video capture is enabled, with both phones sitting on a vibrating stand to showcase how well each processor is able to help optimize the stabilization capabilities while recording a video.
Tucked away at Qualcomm’s booth during CES, the Nokia 8 as it were, is said to have a heavy focus on the camera quality. To demonstrate this it seems like Qualcomm wanted to show off how good their newest processor works in conjunction with EIS 3.0, which is essentially the third-generation of Electronic Image Stabilization technology. According to the video leak, Nokia and Qualcomm are both boasting that the Nokia 8 with the Snapdragon 835 will have “the smoothest video” of any smartphone when it launches.
Whether or not that holds up to be true will have to wait until the phone is actually released and it can be compared to other smartphones in its class, but judging by the video alone the device does seem to stabilize video capture quite nicely. The Snapdragon 821 model can be seen on the left of the video showing a little bit more shake in what the camera is recording, while the model on the right houses the Snapdragon 835 with much smoother results. Unfortunately the video only shows the phones from the front so you get no clear picture of the back of the device or any other angles, but this also isn’t the first Nokia 8 leak, as a video that allegedly shows off the Nokia 8’s rear-facing camera surfaced just earlier this morning. The Nokia 8 is thought to be getting an announcement for Mobile World Congress as Nokia is to hold an event for February 26th, where it may be unveiled alongside the Nokia 6, a handset which is aimed purely at the Chinese smartphone market as it’s been stated to be available in China only.
