CI Games-made action role-playing game (ARPG) Lords of the Fallen will be available for download for Android smartphones and tablets on Thursday, February 9, the Polish studio revealed earlier this week. The game is set in the same universe as the grim, Dark Souls-inspired ARPG of the same name which was released for PC in late 2014, but isn’t a port or a remake of that title. CI Games announced Lords of the Fallen for Android devices shortly after releasing the original PC game over two years ago, but the project was delayed on several occasions after initially being slated for release in 2015.
Lords of the Fallen puts you in the shoes of one of three available heroes looking to save the world from a demonic army that’s up to no good. The game features fast-paced melee combat based on combos and while the original controls from the PC title wouldn’t translate well to touch screens, the developers completely reworked the control scheme for the Lords of the Fallen mobile game. Instead of a complicated user interface filled with virtual buttons, you’ll be slashing your enemies by swiping the screen, which is a control system that most fans of mobile ARPGs will be familiar with. It’s unclear whether Lords of the Fallen is a sequel or a prequel to the 2014 PC game of the same name, but CI Games already confirmed that this title will expand on the story from the previous game.
Apart from three classes and 12 environments, Lords of the Fallen will also feature 30 monster types, 12 bosses, 60 weapons, and 15 unique amulets which will boost your stats. The game is also expected to boast a crafting system and will allow for multiple combat styles depending on your preferences. CI Games said that Lords of the Fallen will be priced at $9.99 on the Google Play Store, though it’s still unclear whether the game will also offer in-app purchases. However, seeing how this studio is responsible for the Sniper Ghost Warrior series and is traditionally focused on console and PC gaming, its upcoming mobile game will hopefully utilize a more traditional business model.
