For most people, their smartphone is their main tool in everyday life. It holds all of their contacts, both phone contacts and email contacts, as well as their text messages, passwords, social media accounts, pictures, videos, and other files that could be essential for work, school, or that could be just generally important for personal reasons. Whatever the case, smartphones are a collective of important personal data and entertainment, and it’s important to keep that personal data secure. One of the ways to do so is with a password, PIN, pattern lock or other security measure that can be found on Android smartphones. What happens if you accidentally forget your password? Not to worry as Wondershare Dr. Fone Toolkit for Android boasts a password lock removal feature that can help you bypass this unfortunate issue. Of course, Dr. Fone Toolkit for Android has a handful of other features too. Let’s take a look at what it offers.
First, before you can do anything you’ll have to get the software installed on your desktop or laptop to use the Android lock screen removal tool. Once that’s installed you’re good to go.
First and foremost, with the lock screen removal option available it certainly makes the software seem a lot more appealing. This is a feature which could certainly come in handy in a pinch if you simply can’t remember your password. It is worth noting, though, that this is a feature which only works with Samsung devices at the moment, as noted by the software when I tried to connect a different device.
If you have a supported Samsung device though, then removing your lock screen password, PIN, pattern, or even fingerprint is just a few steps away. While it is a downside that only Samsung devices are supported at the moment, for those that fit into this criteria it’s as simple as plugging in your device, hitting the start button in the software window, and let it do its thing.
The process may take a minute or two depending on how fast your internet connection is as it needs to download recovery packages to recover your device before removing the password, but once it downloads what it needs it moves right to the password removal step and it will alert you when it’s done. It also removes your pattern lock without losing data, which is the most important factor of this particular function.
Aside from the lock screen removal tool, this software has other functions that can be extremely useful. The Data Recovery tool for example can help you to re-obtain accidentally deleted files and data like your contacts, text messages, photos, and more from your Android phone’s internal storage as well as the microSD card if your phone supports external storage.
This particular tool can scan for all files or for just deleted files, depending on what what it is you’re trying to retrieve. These are both options which are available in standard mode which is what you would want to try first, and if standard mode scans aren’t able to find the files you’re looking for, you can try again with advanced mode which digs deeper into your phone’s storage, but the process will also take more time so you’ll want to allow for this to take its course.
There’s also a feature for backing up and restoring your data which is something you may want to do once in a while if you don’t take other measures to backup your personal information. All you have to do with this feature is click on the option once from the main menu screen of the software window, and it will begin backing up or restoring.
If you need to recover data from your device but it’s damaged or broken, not to worry as this software has an option for recovering data from damaged devices too. This particular function is called Data Extraction, and it works in much the same way as the Data Recovery feature, but it is meant exclusively for damaged device, meaning if your phone is still operable you would use the Recovery option and not the extraction option.
Recovering data is great, but it’s not always about recovering data, sometimes you need to get rid of it to protect your privacy. This is what the Data Eraser feature is for. This will erase ALL data from your device, so you’ll want to ensure that when you mouse over this option, you click the down arrow button that appears to first download your data to your PC hard hard drive before erasing it off of your smartphone. Rounding out the features for Dr. Fone Toolkit for Android are a SIM unlock option in case your SIM card is locked with a PIN as well as an option to root your device, or record your screen if you’re trying to make videos of what you’re doing on your smartphone, say, for tutorial purposes.

- Theme (4/5) – The design and style of the user interface is nice and clean. It’s not over the top nor is it basic or boring. It was easy on the eyes during use.
- Features (5/5) – There was quite a lot that the software could do. Even if you don’ necessarily have need for it immediately, it was nice to have it there in the event that a situation arose where some of these functions would become needed.
- Overall (4.5/5) – A very well-rounded piece of software with lots to offer.
Pros
- Tons of features
- Easy installation
- Easy to use
- Simple interface with a pretty decent design
Cons
- While the software offers a lot of features, a big feature, which is the lock screen removal tool, only works with Samsung phones. This will end up turning a lot of users away as there are many non-Samsung Android devices out there that cannot benefit from this feature. That said, it’s very nifty for Samsung device owners.
When it comes down to it, the software for the most part is super easy to use and everything is very straightforward. Each feature is clearly and concisely laid out for the user and is labeled in the simplest way possible so there is no confusion on what everything does. Not only that, but Dr. Fone Toolkit for Android isn’t just focused on one or two things, it provides a multitude of functions that really do make it feel like a varied toolkit. If you have need for even just a couple of the tools in this software, it’s definitely worth considering even if just to test out the trial software.
