Although MWC 2017 has yet to officially begin, Ulefone has already made a number of announcements confirming the company will be unveiling some new smartphones at the event. In fact, the smartphones that they have announced are all second-generation devices, the Ulefone Gemini 2, the Ulefone Power 2 and the Ulefone Armor 2. However, that now seems to be not the full extent to what Ulefone will have on show at this year’s MWC event, as the company has also now confirmed it will be showcasing a new first-generation device, the Ulefone F1. The big selling point with this particular handset is the level of bezels on offer. More accurately, the lack of bezels.
The Ulefone F1 is clearly designed to be one a smartphone that is marketed as a ‘bezel-less smartphone’, which for the most part seems to be true. With the exception of the bottom bezel where the home button is located, the rest of the smartphone boasts extremely thin bezels. Which means this is a smartphone that will look to offer a near-all-screen experience. In fact, the top bezel is reduced so much that Ulefone has moved the front-facing camera to the bottom bezel, along with the home button – which also includes an embedded fingerprint sensor.
In terms of the rest of the specs and features, Ulefone has not revealed too much information on this new smartphone. However, the company has confirmed that the Ulefone F1 will come sporting a rear dual camera setup, along with 6GB RAM and a MediaTek Helio P25 processor (clocking at 2.5 GHz). Which is the same processor that Ulefone already confirmed would come included with the Ulefone Armor 2. In fact, Ulefone has also highlighted that they will have a third smartphone coming this year which is also powered by this processor. This will be the Ulefone T1 and along with the Helio P25, will also come packing 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.
Back to the Ulefone F1 though, while Ulefone is announcing the phone at MWC 2017, it will not actually become available to buy until sometime in the second half of this year, with the company yet to provide any firm details on the date or more importantly, any firm indications on the likely price.
