Google had introduced its Google Home speaker back in November last year, and it has been available in the US for quite some time now, and it’s finally time for it to ship to the UK. The company introduced this speaker during their ‘Pixel event’, during which they introduced first two Google Pixel smartphones. That being said, Google’s spokesperson actually confirmed that the Google Home is coming to the UK in the second quarter of this year, which means it’s coming really soon.
Google’s spokesperson did not share any additional details regarding Google Home’s availability, so we don’t know when exactly will it be released in the UK, but rest assured it’ll be there in April, May or June. Now, the Google Home speaker, which is equipped with Google’s personal assistant, called Google Assistant, will compete directly with the Amazon Echo, and its Alexa personal assistant. The Amazon Echo has been available in the UK for quite some time now, and it did not really have any straight up competition in its product category, but that’s about to change soon. As you probably already know, both Google Assistant and Alexa are voice-guided personal assistants, and each has something unique to offer to you. For more info, you can check out our Google Home and Amazon Echo comparison.
Now, some of you are probably wondering how much will the Google Home cost in the UK. Well, we still don’t have any specific info regarding that, but chances are it will be slightly more expensive than it is in the US, and it costs $129 in the States. So you can either expect it to be priced at £129, or a bit more than that, though that’s just an educated guess, nothing more than that. If you’d like to know more about the Google Home, you can always check out our full review of this speaker, in which we go in-depth with what it has to offer. That is pretty much it, all we can do at this point is sit and wait in order for Google to announce more info regarding Google Home’s availability in the UK, stay tuned.
